September 2021 – Richard Hutchinson was born 131 days premature on June 5, 2020, weighing 11.9 oz. After his birth, Richard’s team of doctors told his parents that he would have a 0% chance of survival due to his premature birth. In June, Hutchinson defied all odds and happily celebrated his first birthday.
“I credit his miraculous survival to his wonderful parents who were there for him every step of the way and to the entire neonatology team at Children’s Minnesota,” said neonatologist Dr. Stacy Kern.
According to Guinness World Records, Hutchinson is the world’s most premature baby to survive.
