December 2021 – The Brookings Institution, a nonprofit public policy group, posted a report on states that have banned critical race theory (CRT) from schools. After a rude insult of all people who question CRT, writers of the report admitted that as early as July, eight state legislatures had already enacted laws expelling CRT from their classrooms: Idaho, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Iowa, New Hampshire, Arizona, and South Carolina.

Days later, Alabama joined them. In Florida, Georgia, and Utah, state school boards had also passed policies barring CRT.

A July 22 post by chalkbeat.org featured a map identifying 28 states that had introduced (but not all passed) anti-CRT legislation.
