August 2021 – In early June, AFA asked for support for Loudoun County Public School teacher Byron “Tanner” Cross, a Christian, after the school placed him on leave because he would not sanction transgenderism by using pronouns that don’t fit the biological sex of students. Within days, AFA’s petition supporting Cross had over 50,000 signatures.
On June 8, the Virginia 20th Judicial Circuit Court ruled that Cross’ First Amendment rights were violated by the school. “This is great news, as the court ruled a Christian’s right to express his view is protected under the First Amendment,” said AFA president Tim Wildmon.
